Shift at Midnight is a tense horror game where you inspect customers and detect impostors at a lonely gas station. Manage tasks and survive the night.

The story of Shift at Midnight

Have you ever thought that a simple job like working the night shift at a gas station could turn into a survival nightmare? Play as a night shift employee at a deserted gas station styled after the 90s. The job initially seems familiar: checking paperwork, selling gas, and keeping the store running smoothly.

But as the night progresses, things gradually become unusual. Some customers begin to exhibit strange behavior, with vacant eyes, inconsistent answers, or suspicious actions. The terrifying truth is: not everyone is human.

A terrifying night shift with no escape

The game's unique feature lies in its gameplay, which combines Papers, Please-style paperwork checking with survival horror. Therefore, here are some tasks you need to be aware of:

  • Checking customer identity: Everyone entering the gas station carries identification, but the information isn't always reliable. Compare details like name, photo, ID number, and even small clues like how they answer questions or their facial expressions. Some very subtle discrepancies could be signs of a doppelganger.
  • Making a decisive decision: Allow, refuse, or take strong action. There are no completely safe options. If you trust the wrong person, the consequences can be immediate, but if you are too suspicious, you could also get yourself into trouble.
  • Managing the store: Restocking, receiving deliveries, and maintaining the gas station's operations.
  • Survival when things get out of control: Erect barricades, set traps, hide, or find ways to fight back. The pace becomes frantic, turning a seemingly simple shift into a life-or-death battle that lasts until dawn.
