Side Effects is a pill roulette game where you and another player take turns choosing pills, where each pill can help, harm, or even… instantly kill. The goal is to maintain your resistance level, avoiding it reaching zero to win.
Resistance represents your resistance level. When you use a pill, this stat will change depending on the effect. If Resistance drops to zero, you lose the game.
After each turn, you have the opportunity to use items such as Vaccine, Tweezer (tweezer), or Analyze. Vaccine prevents the negative effects of the upcoming pill, Tweezer removes a suspicious pill, and Analyze predicts the effects of any pill.
Watching your opponents pick potions and how they use their items will give you clues about their strategy. You can fake a reckless choice to distract them, or use a scare item that you don't really need.
